Benefits of a New Air Conditioning System

A new air conditioning system will keep your Antioch, IL, home safe and comfortable during the hotter months in Illinois. It will also run more efficiently and potentially lower your energy bills.

Older air conditioning units tend to run longer and use more electricity. A new air conditioner, especially a variable-speed model, uses less electricity, saving you money.

How Long Does an Air Conditioning Unit Last?

Your air conditioning system might turn on and off, but that does not mean you are getting the best value for your money in terms of comfort and energy savings. Central air conditioners lose efficiency as they age.

Parts wear out, and AC repairs are more frequent.

As your air conditioning unit struggles to maintain efficiency, it uses more energy and increases electricity spending. More frequent repairs will have you opening your wallet again and again.

Well-maintained central air conditioners can last 10 to 15 years before they slow down, although ENERGY STAR® recommends setting a replacement budget for a unit “more than 10 years old.”

Understanding SEER2 Ratings

SEER2 stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio 2, a rating that measures a cooling system’s energy efficiency. The higher the SEER2 number, the greater the energy efficiency.

Different parts of the country have different rating standards based on the climate and how hot it gets outdoors. For example, new central air conditioners must have a minimum 13.4 SEER2 rating in the northern states and 14.3 in the southwest.

How Long Does Air Conditioner Installation Take?

Our licensed air conditioning installers at Comfort Cavalry Heating & Air typically have a new system in service in under one day. The installation may take a bit longer if we need to extend ductwork or do a little extra to facilitate the best use of your new energy-efficient air conditioner.

When Is the Best Time to Buy a New Air Conditioner?

Early spring or fall is the best time to call for new air conditioning installation with little wait. But any time you need one is the best answer. We can install a new air conditioner throughout the year in your Antioch, IL, home.

Also, if you need a new heating system, replacing your cooling system at the same time is generally more cost-effective in terms of installation costs and vice versa.

“Hello,
I saw Comfort Calvary working at my neighbors 6-23-25 and was outside when the service technician finished up. As he was approaching his van I introduced myself to Kaeden and proceeded to ask him about my A/C unit concerns. Kaeden was very polite and informative about the maintenance checkup and cleaning for my A/C. He said this was his last appointment and had to call the office to confirm finishing at my neighbors, and said if I wanted to have my A/C unit checked now he could find out. He called the office and had me talk to Nancy who was very polite and accommodating and was able to set me up for an appointment at that time. Kaeden came in checked out the inside furnace and then went outside to clean and inspect outside unit. When he was finished he came in and explained all that was done and gave me a couple recommendations. He was very professional, courteous, and thorough in giving me his opinion on what I could do to optimize my A/C unit. I called the office later that day and talked to Nancy again and set up an appointment with Kaden for the following week to install 5-2-1- Compressor saver and a recharge. The following week Kaeden came out and did a great job. Thank you Comfort Calvary, Kaeden, and Nancy for Great Customer Service.”

“Excellent service at a fair price. Everyone at Comfort Cavalry was a pleasure to work with. We were informed of the scheduled times for each phase and the staff arrived promptly. We never had anything we were left to clean up after the service was completed- just an excellent, quiet efficient unit we can count on for years to come.”
